Pine River Nature Center is located in Goodells Michigan adjacent to Goodells County Park. It is adjacent to a freeway and a railway as well. It features a really nice tree house to over look an area of woods and vernal ponds. There is also a pond in which turtles and frogs are usually there for your enjoyment. There is also a good meadow / prairie area which is good for photo'ing butterflies. The Pine River runs thru the property and can be walked across sometimes to walk the Hemlock loop as well. The trails are well maintained with numerous connectors so you can mix up the loop you take. There are also plenty of benchs to sit and enjoy nature as well. My particular favorite is that at marker 10 adjacent to a shag bark hickory tree. On the wildflower loop if you time it right in the spring, you can enjoy the trillium there. |
